Omaimah Bamasag

Omaimah Bamasag is a Professor of Cybersecurity with an M.Sc. and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester. She was a postdoctoral fellow at MIT’s Mechatronics Research Lab (2014-2016) and remains a visiting researcher. Currently, she is the Deputy of Transport Enablement at the Transport General Authority in Riyadh, responsible for advancing land, rail, and maritime transport through research, innovation, and human capacity building. Prof. Bamasag is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Autonomous Mobility, representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Her expertise includes security solutions for distributed applications, IoT security, and authentication protocols. She has held several academic leadership roles, including Dean and Director at King Abdulaziz University, and now leads efforts toward smart, sustainable transport in the kingdom
